Kappa optronics develops and manufactures innovative cameras for major international customers in the fields of aviation, defense and vision solutions with a focus on automotive applications. With visual surveillance of the air to air refuelling Kappa is the global technology leader and won the Innovation Award of Airbus Defense and Space in 2019. Kappa is key system supplier in some major programs.
We are looking for a dedicated working student who wants to specialize in the robust integration of optronic components while developing a deep understanding of thermal designs. In this position, you will be jointly responsible for shaping the thermo-efficient, mechanical design and can try out your own approaches and ideas and incorporate them profitably into our technological development. The dual study program is completed in cooperation with the HAWK Göttingen in the precision mechanical engineering course.

Your Responsibilities:
- Participation in lectures and seminars at the university to acquire theoretical knowledge in the field of mechanical engineering
- Design and construction of sensor housings, cameras or other optoelectronic components, taking thermal requirements into account
- New designs and optimization of existing variants
- Integration of thermal simulation approaches and analysis of the thermal conductivity of the design
- Support in the development, design and optimization of precision machines and tools
- Carrying out tests, analyses and documentation to ensure the quality and performance of our products
Your Qualifications:
- A-levels or technical college entrance qualification with good grades in mathematics, physics and technical subjects
- Passion for technology and mechanical engineering
- Interest in CAD software (e.g. SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and thermal simulation
- Joy in systematic problem solving
- Strong mathematical understanding
- Interest in precise and accurate work
- Strong hands-on mentality and ability to work in a team
- High spirit of innovation and interest in continuous development in a dynamic working environment
