Your Responsibilities:

  • Integration of AI models for object detection on our product platforms (especially FPGA- and Embedded-Linux-based systems)
  • Adaptation and optimization of existing standard models for specific use cases (e.g., fine-tuning performance, transfer learning)
  • Analysis, selection, and evaluation of suitable AI architectures for high-performance embedded applications
  • Close collaboration with and interface function to FPGA developers and embedded software teams for efficient system integration
  • Contribution to the definition and implementation of development processes for AI-based camera systems according to, for example, aviation standards (including documentation)
  • Working in highly motivated project teams in technology platform development

Your Profile:

  • Completed technical studies (Bachelor or Master in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Embedded Systems, or a comparable field of study)
  • Experience in the development, integration, and training of AI models, especially in the field of object detection (e.g., CNNs, YOLO, transformer-based approaches)
  • Proficient knowledge of Python and experience with common AI frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch)
  • Experience in optimizing and deploying AI models for embedded systems (e.g., quantization, pruning, edge inference)
  • Basic knowledge of FPGA technologies and/or embedded Linux systems is advantageous (expert knowledge not required)
  • Experience in collaboration at the interfaces between hardware and software development is beneficial
  • Technical knowledge of camera systems and image signal processing is advantageous
  • Experience with real datasets as well as data preparation and annotation
  • Experience in safety-critical systems, preferably in aviation or military land vehicles
  • Knowledge of functional safety is advantageous
  • Very good English skills
